In-cosmetics 2004 in Milan attracts a truly international cosmetics industry audience
In-cosmetics 2004 excelled all expectations by attracting an impressive 3,705 visitors to Milan.
Including those who revisited the exhibition, the visitor total reached 6,252, rivalling in-cosmetics 2003 and almost doubling the number of visitors who attended in-cosmetics when the show was last in Milan in 1996.
in-cosmetics provides an annual showcase and launch platform for exhibitors from around the world to display new raw materials, ingredients and technologies. Proving to be truly international, in-cosmetics saw visitors from 87 countries attending to source new products and learn about the latest trends and developments.
A total of 43% of visitors came from Italy, 23% from other EU countries, 13% from non-EU countries, 7% from Asia, 5% from North America and 9% from Rest of the World.
The event was officially opened by Vice President of Research and Development for Estée Lauder, Dr Daniel Maes, who commented, The quality of research done in labs in Europe, the US and Asia is overwhelming compared to 15 years ago when in-cosmetics first started. Events like in-cosmetics provide a forum for suppliers and the cosmetics industry and allows all parties to discuss and share their research.
Mr Preston Brawn, Global Cosmetics Manager from FMC Biopolymer commented, This was our third time exhibiting at in-cosmetics and was by far the most successful, the number of visitors exceeded my expectations. All in all, it was one of the best trade exhibitions I have worked.
in-cosmetics is also an important forum for the latest trends and developments within the cosmetics and toiletries industry. The Cosmetics & Toiletries Advanced Technology Conference took plade on Monday 26th April and the morning of Tuesday 27th April, with the focus on innovations in delivery systems for skin and sun care products.
Exhibitor Seminars featured on all 3 days of the show providing detailed information on products and services exhibited at the show.
Trends Presentations also took place on each day of the show with a wide range of speakers from leading market research companies and organisations associated with the cosmetics and toiletries industry. On the final morning of the show the SICC held Learning Lecture focusing on the 7th Amendment and Raw Materials.
In addition to the activity on the show floor, in-cosmetics in Milan saw the largest New Ideas 5k Event ever. The New Ideas 5k Run/Walk for Charity was held on 28 April in Milan’s Parco Sempione. More than 130 runners and walkers rose early and assembled to support the Look Good…Feel Better Charity and create a community at in-cosmetics 2004.
The awards for top finishers, the first person to show up at the event, the farthest distance travelled and a special award for the youngest participant were presented at the in-cosmetics cocktail reception.
