Judy Cole retireing from Sally Beauty Company

Judy Cole, Vice President, Marketing Communications, is retiring from Sally Beauty Company after 20 years of service. She will remain with the company as Vice President of Industry Relations until the end of September.

During her tenure, Ms. Cole’s responsibilities expanded as the company grew from 50 stores in 1983, to 2,900 stores in the U.S. and six countries worldwide today. Ms. Cole is credited with creating innovative marketing programs and elevating the stature of Sally Beauty Company within the beauty industry. In her position as Vice President of Marketing Communications, her areas of responsibility included Advertising, Direct Mail, Marketing Communications, Customer Relationship Marketing, Professional Education Shows, Public Relations and the Sally Beauty Web site.

“Judy was a huge contributor to the growth of Sally Beauty Company during the last two decades. Her presence will be sorely missed, and I wish her health and happiness in the future,” commented Michael Renzulli, President and Chief Executive Officer, Sally Beauty Company, Inc.

In her role as the Sally Beauty Company ambassador to the beauty industry, she has increased exposure for the Sally brand and built solid relationships with industry trade associations, publications and vendors, as well as consumer publications. In the non-profit arena, she was instrumental in promoting the highly successful SallyCares outreach program to women’s shelters. Under her guidance at Sally Beauty, more than $100,000 in cosmetology scholarships have been awarded. She has spearheaded the campaign that raised more than one million dollars for breast cancer research and scholarships to both University of North Texas and Texas Woman’s University.

Ms. Cole has also held industry leadership positions on the National Cosmetology Association Advisory Council and the Cosmetology Advancement Foundation. Her active involvement in the community of Denton includes serving on the Board of Directors of the Denton Assistance Center, the Greater Denton Arts Council, the Board of Governors at the University of North Texas School of Merchandising, University of North Texas President’s Council and the Texas Woman’s University Chancellor’s Circle. In the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, she has been a board member of the Dallas Chapter of the Fashion Group International and a Founding Member of the Dallas/Fort Worth Direct Marketing Association.
