3,000 luxury spa - largest in any five star hotel in this country scheduled to open in April 03
One of Kerry’s most acclaimed five star hotels – the award winning Killarney Park – will officially re-open on Monday 17th of February, 2003, after an extensive 2 million, six month, renovation and refurbishment programme.
This is the most comprehensive renovation programme undertaken by the hotel since it first opened eleven years ago. Most noticeable to regular visitors will be the spectacular new hotel entrance - impressive in both design and stature – with commanding twelve feet high automatic, sliding doors. Inside, the entire ground floor area – including the reception area, lobby, Park restaurant, Garden Bar and first floor bedrooms have been re-decorated utilising contemporary colour schemes, fabrics and materials. Whilst modernising the overall look and ambience, the new interiors continue to both reflect and enhance the traditions of style, luxury and comfort associated with the Killarney Park Hotel.
However, perhaps one of the most exciting and significant aspects of this development is the construction of a three storey, 3,000 sq. feet health and beauty spa. Drawing upon Eastern influences for inspiration in its decoration and concept this will be the largest Spa in any five star hotel in the country. Exclusive to the Spa in Kerry will be the Elemis and Eve Lom range of products. The adjoining leisure centre will also include a fitness room, heated indoor swimming pool, outdoor hot tub, sauna, jacuzzi, bubble pool and plunge pool.
General Manager of the Killarney Park Hotel, Donagh Davern, commented “Ultimately, this renovation programme was about enhancing the standard of service and luxury offered by this hotel and the addition of the new Spa allows us to offer a wider experience to our guests. Many of the world's finest hotels have Spas and after considerable global research, we have created this Spa to fulfil the exacting expectations of our guests.”
