Unitis, an active partner of the cosmetic industry
The European Organization of Cosmetic Ingredients Industries and Services, commonly known as UNITIS was launched on 1st October 2002 in order to promote the interests of all activities related to the cosmetic ingredients sector i.e. producers, evaluation companies, distributors, etc…, particularly in the field of the natural origin.
Its members, mainly SME’s, can be :
- either Active Members for those located in a country of the Council of Europe
- or Corresponding Members for those coming from other countries (Asia, the United States…)
The association’s main goals are the improvement of the quality of ingredients and consumer safety, working in partnership with administrative and scientific authorities as well as all actors of the cosmetic industry.
Concretely, that means that UNITIS is concerned by all what is in relation to the cosmetic ingredients, especially of natural origin, these ones being important constituents strongly present in the cosmetics.
UNITIS is an active and constructive organization that, thanks to its professional expertise and by its actions, endeavours to contribute to appropriate regulations and to help the daily business of its members.
Toxicological evaluation, Good Manufacturing Practices, new Korean Law, Reach Programme, GMO, Ingredients Nomenclatures, Allergenic Substances… are for example the topics of its today’s principal concerns.
But at any moment, the flexibility of its structure enables UNITIS to adapt and undertake new actions which can appear essential within the framework of the activity of its members.
