Chisco Now Gives Everyone Lip Service
the opening of the 2003 Summer Outdoor Retailer Show, Chisco announced today it has signed a long term deal with Leashables of Kaysville, Utah as an exclusive licensee for Chap-Grip Lip Balm.
The agreement means Chisco will be the prime distributor of the product to the action sports market . Leashables will continue to market to mass merchants.
Chap-Grip Lip Balm is a patented and trademarked product that includes lip balm inside a neoprene holder and clip, making it attachable to outdoor wear, ski suits, belts, backpacks, keychains and other gear. Chisco will sell the SPF 18 lip balm in a Tsunami tropical flavor and assorted holder colors.
Like Chisco, Leashables was founded by two brothers – Brady and Jeff Anderton. And like Chisco, both brothers love to ski.
Beirne Chisolm, who with brother Gregg started Chisco nearly 20 years ago, said the partnership between the two Utah-based companies "is the perfect mix of young and established innovators who have one mindset – to stay ahead of the curve by continually perfecting products and materials that bring ease, convenience and more enjoyment of the outdoors to everyone."
"Anyone who skis on water or snow, hikes, bikes, climbs or does other sports, knows that lip balm is a must to fight the damaging effects of wind, heat, dryness and sun. They've got a great product that we think will be well received by our retail dealers."
Jeff Anderton said "we're very excited to be doing business with Chisco. They are the leaders in the action sports accessory market."
Incorporated in 1997, Leashables created Chap Grip Lip Balm, which became the fifth best selling lip balm in the nation in 2001.
