Countdown to the Cruelty-Free Fayre
'Tis the season to be jolly and spread peace to all creatures on earth! What better way of doing it than by making sure your money goes to companies which don't hurt animals or the environment? Consumers are becoming increasingly concerned about the ethical impacts of shopping and the Christmas Without Cruelty Fayre is the perfect opportunity to spend, spend, spend with a completely clear conscience.
The annual event, to be held at Kensington Town Hall on November 23rd, brings animal charities, 'green' companies and ethical traders all under one roof. A huge range of products will be on offer including cruelty-free cosmetics, funky veggie footwear and delicious chocolates, sweets and treats. Support causes close to your heart by snapping up seasonal essentials such as christmas cards, calendars and wrapping paper from animal charities and campaign groups.
A highlight of the day will be the annual auction, with a large selection of unique celebrity items going under the hammer. Add some glitz to your Christmas wardrobe with Graham Norton's sequined shirt, or predict what the future holds with a signed Mystic Meg tarot card set. Footie fans can really score with an Arsenal pennant signed by all the players, or a family ticket to tour the Man United stadium and museum. With theatre tickets, autographed books from Jilly Cooper and Alexei Sayle, signed items from Massive Attack, Craig David, Status Quo and other stars of sports, stage and screen up for grabs, there'll be no excuse for giving socks this year!
And if all that shopping works up an appetite, delicious veggie catering will be on hand to keep the hunger at bay.
