Corporate leaders pay tribute to industry leader Mary Kay Ash

Leaders of Alticor Inc. and its subsidiaries, Amway Corp. and Quixtar Inc., paid tribute today to Mary Kay Ash, a pillar of the direct-selling industry. Ash, who died November 22nd, was Founder and Chairman Emeritus of Mary Kay Inc.

Amway Co-Founder Jay Van Andel said, "Of Mary Kay's countless contributions, one stands out for me ? her promotion of the Golden Rule. Mary Kay encouraged everyone to treat others with respect. By highlighting this simple principle, she set a high standard and made a real difference."

Amway Co-Founder Rich DeVos said, "Mary Kay lived the American dream. More important, she shared that dream with millions of women in America and around the world. She changed and improved so many lives – and leaves a tremendous legacy that I am certain will endure."

Alticor Chairman Steve Van Andel and President Dick DeVos said, "At a time when we are all aware of the importance of heroes, consider Mary Kay Ash. She gave millions of women around the world the confidence and opportunity they needed – and deserved – to achieve their dreams and goals. In terms of lives enriched, Mary Kay's contributions are immeasureable."

Company officials added that Mary Kay Ash was an inspiration to women everywhere and that her formula for success – to put God first, family second and career third – was apparent in everything she did.
